Ruby Port
A young, sweet red Port with a short ageing period. Fruity, intense and ready to drink straight away.
Ruby is the accessible Port. Without decades of ageing, fruity and sweet, it is the bridge to the more complex Ports.

Useful uses
Winemaking
Fermentation of the red grapes (Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz) is stopped by fortification with grape spirit, leaving the wine at around 19–20% alcohol. Short ageing (usually 2–3 years) in large wooden vats or in stainless-steel or concrete tanks. It retains its primary fruit. Bottled young.
