Pouilly-Fumé
Also known as: Fumé de Pouilly
The Loire appellation for powerful, herbaceous Sauvignon Blanc, with a unique mineral character linked to its limestone and flint soils.
Pouilly-Fumé is powerful Sauvignon Blanc. On limestone and flint (silex) soils it produces wines with a characteristic 'smoky' aroma, herbaceous notes and strong minerality. It is the perfect complement to Sancerre, its neighbour across the Loire.
